San Luis, Arizona - Arizona Western College will be holding a RegFest event at the San Luis Learning Center (SLLC) on Wednesday, April 21, for prospective students interested in enrolling for the Summer or Fall 2021 semester.
Attendees will have the opportunity to start the admission process, join a quick advisement session, apply for support resources, and walk away registered for classes. Parents will also have an opportunity to go to an informational session. Representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registration will be available during the event to assist students. More information will also be on hand about the High School Finish Line program, the Yuma Promise, KEYS Student Support Services, CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program), the Informatics Program, and the YES Program.

Phoenix, Arizona - The state-run vaccination site at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, which has administered nearly 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, will relocate Today, Monday, April 12 to Desert Financial Arena on Arizona State University’s Tempe campus.
“Arizonans have come together to protect our communities and expand vaccinations quickly,” said Governor Ducey. “I’m grateful to all the volunteers, staff members and health care professionals who are helping Arizonans get vaccinated, and to Arizona State University for their continued partnership.”
The shift will move vaccination operations indoors as temperatures grow warmer at Arizona State University s (ASU) venue for basketball and other large-scale indoor events. Phoenix Municipal Stadium, located just northwest of the Tempe campus, is ASU’s baseball facility.
House Fire in the 4300 block of West 17th Place Published: 12 April 2021 12 April 2021
Yuma, Arizona - On Friday, at about 10:10 PM, a house fire was reported in the 4300 block of West 17th Place. Arriving Yuma Fire Department personnel found heavy smoke and flames coming from 4348 West 17th Place. It took approximately 30-40 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the fire. One person was home at the time of the fire, they were treated for burn injuries and transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center.
The fire was determined to have started in the back patio area of the home and had extended into the interior of the home. The fire was able to be contained to the one home, which sustained significant damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but believed to have been accidental. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to provide assistance. YFD personnel remained on the scene throughout the night to monitor for any hot spots or flare ups.
